Minimum computer requirements for Linux Mint:
- Processor: 64-bit CPU with a speed of 2GHz or better (a dual-core processor or better is recommended for better performance).
- Memory (RAM): Minimum 2GB RAM (8GB recommended).
- Storage: 35GB of disk space. Using an SSD drive will give you a huge performance increase compared to a “spinning” disk. (40GB or more recommended for a more fluid experience, especially with additional software and files).
- Graphics: A graphics card capable of 1024×768 resolution (for better usability, support for 1920×1080 is ideal).
- Boot Media: USB port or DVD drive to install from a bootable USB or DVD.
Other equipment:
- Internet availability used to download the installation files.
- A computer to download and make either a bootable USB Flash drive or a DVD disk from the .iso file. (It can be the same computer that you will put Linux Mint on).
- An 8GB or larger USB flash drive or DVD to mount the bootable software.
- Software to install the .iso file and make a bootable USB drive or DVD. (Balena Etcher or Rufus)
